One of the very first things you should do when you decide that you want to make money online from your website is to learn search engine optimization (SEO). You could get your hopes up high, have your website monetized perfectly, and be ready to make money online, but if you don’t have the basic understanding of how to get targeted visitors to your site (drive traffic), it won’t do you any good. Instead you would want ads relevant to golf, such as for golf clubs, golfing apparel and such.
Having irrelevant ads or advertisers will decrease the integrity of your site and possibly you as the site owner or author. Keeping them relevant and you will be more likely to make money online from the ads.
Once you figure out how to get the targeted traffic to your site, you want to have them come back for more. One of the best ways to get someone to return would be to keep updated relevant content on your site. By updating your content often and keeping it relevant to your niche will allow you to gain loyal followers that will keep visiting your site to see what new information you have for them.
You may find that some of the top advertisers only want to advertise on sites that have a high following and are regularly updating its content. Keep this in mind when looking for advertisers; you may have to wait on the ones you want until your site has gained the notoriety that these big advertisers are looking for. Time is one of you biggest allies in struggle for getting targeted traffic, so, be patient and things will naturally grow, if you keep steady and consistent with your site.
Today’s internet provides so many different avenues and opportunities to make money online from your website or blog. The make money online opportunities range anywhere from text ads all the way up to selling physical products.
